Margaret Powers | 2Rev Coach

Margaret is a constructivist educator, with a background in the Reggio Emilia Approach to education, and she holds a deep respect for all learners, of any age. She has worked with students and teachers from Pre-K through 12th grade, engaging them in making, design thinking, computer science, and PBL experiences. She has over a decade of experience, on three continents, designing and facilitating learning experiences, engaging in program design, and creating instructional resources for teachers.

Margaret is the founder of Creative Thinking Partners, LLC where she partners with schools to provide leadership and instructional coaching, design professional learning experiences, and use design sprints to engage community members in transforming their school culture.  She has developed and led faculty induction programs, designed makerspaces and created STEAM curricula for different age ranges, and supported fellow educators and school leaders in multiple professional learning communities. Margaret has also taught online courses for educators around the world and facilitated numerous workshops, in the U.S. and internationally, on innovative practices in education and ways to shift organizational culture towards growth and learning. 

Margaret was named a PBS Digital Innovator in 2014, an Exceptional Emerging Leader in 2015, and became a Google Certified Innovator in 2016. She received her B.A. from Bryn Mawr College and her Master’s Degree in International Training and Education from American University. She has also completed Graduate Certificates in Ed Tech (MSU) and Project Based Learning (UPenn). Margaret is passionate about creating innovative approaches to learning that inspire students and educators to (re)discover the joy of learning. She believes the key to making learning engaging and meaningful is using human-centered design principles and a competency-based approach to skills and feedback.
